Long run time

I bought this washer/dryer combo thinking it was a good option at the time. I was sorely mistaken. It has been the worst appliance I've ever had the experience of using. Not to mention the outrageous water/electrical bills I've had since owning this product. It's causing my wife great frustration and I wish I could give it away.

Screen issues and dispenser smell
Mr. Darcy
7/19/2019
Initially we had no screen issues. After a few weeks we cannot scroll down the on the screen anymore to make selections. The screen jumps right back up to the top.
The detergent dispenser is not sealed or water tight at all. I had to disassemble it to clean it out because the detergent smell was so strong. Upon disassembly I noticed that the dispenser is not sealed along the entire top panel. No wonder it smells so strong.
Otherwise this machine has a large volume for its size which is great for small spaces. Easily and comfortably washes for 2 adults.
One other thing I noticed is that the machine will randomly turn itself on intermittently for the briefest of moments. I'm not sure what it's doing but we know it turns on when it activates our motion sensing night light and the screen flashes on for a brief second.
Lastly, it connects to wi-fi randomly. We haven't set it up with our router, but sometimes it will say it is connected remotely. Strange.

Great unit when it works... but very buggy
Duke c.

So ill start this off by saying if you live in more than a house of 2 this is probably not the washer for you
If you live in an apt without a washer dryer hookup this washer is for you... the all in one ventless design is perfect i have min connected to the sink and i use the ranges 220 power supply... i cant cook and do laundry at the same time but it beats laundromats
When this unit runs right its great fast wash cycles and the dry cycle dries fairly quick as long as the garments still have a tumble to them if you put so much in that it no longer has that tumble effect drying will be impossibly long i often set to auto dry - damp dry and clothes 100% dry to the touch and often if i check after about 90 mins they are dry too usually
Now for the bad this unit seems exceptionally buggy
About every 3rd/ 4th load it will toss a no water detected code in the middle of the was cycle to clear this code you have to unplug the unit wait a moment plug it back in and start the wash cycle all over kind of annoying but its better than a nasty dirty laundromat
Now every once in awhile the thing will just go nuts... will run wash cycles fine it will go to start its dry cycle but fill itself up with water like a wash cycle often even dispensing soap too... will then throw up a no water code and sit full of water so you unplug reset and select spin cycle or rinse and spin and again it says spinning but the drums in was cycle and full of water... cancel cycle select spin cycle again ok great it spun this time now select dry cycle and it fills itself with water soaking the clothes again then tosses no water detected code again and no matter what you seem to do it wont cooperate with you... so you toss in the towel and hang dry that load a few days later you toss a new load in and in functions as it should or just makes you clear a no water code...
Another thing ive noticed with the load and go dispenser is i constantly get low fluid warnings when its full about every other load it does this
Ultimately this is whirlpools first crack at the all in one unit so i should have expected issues like this and gone with a more basic old school tried and true unit
But most of the time it operates as it should
I do recommend this product for certain people again this unit will likely not meet expectations if your in a large household with alot of laundry but if you short on space or dont have a vent for a dryer this unit or units like it will keep you out of the laundromat and keep you from raising your humidity level from hang drying...
I do whirlpool made an option for an all in one with 110 power supply as i imagine most people use this in a apartments where the only 220 power they have is the range if you have 220 dryer hookup I imagine youd just use a normal washer dryer set and not spend the extra money for a ventless all in one

Takes forever
MelLo123
6/25/2019
I read the other reviews and I am not sure we're talking about the same all-in-one. It takes about 6 hours at least and that's for a "quick" wash. The lint builds up, it's hard to scrape off and the clothes smell a little mildewy even if I choose the "extra" dry setting. I agree its a space saver however we bought this to have an option to wash / dry clothes on the main level (we're in a ranch style home with a newborn) but it takes too long. I still use the separate washer dryer in the basement when I have more than one load. Not sure I would recomend it other than the space saving aspect. I wanted to like this product!

Extremely Inconvenient and LOUD
Hailey96
6/23/2019
My boyfriend and I just moved into a new apartment and this is what we have. We didn't think it would be a problem at all! Seemed like it would be very convenient. WRONG. Read the user manual carefully before using it. You can only do tiny loads at a time, and they take HOURS to dry. It's ridiculous and takes away any convenience. Very frustrated.

Washer/Dryer Combo

Chose this product due to size Constraints and the dimensions were perfect and it is ventless! My only complaint is the time it takes to dry clothes. Apparently the ventless systems take more than 2x standard machines to dry. This should have been more clearly indicated in the product description. Also, the product user manual indicates there is a plug included but it is not.

Purchased 2 weeks ago. Ran a load through everyday since each load takes 8 + hours for wash and dry. They all come out smelling like dirty feet. Added fabric softener, still dirty feet smell. Got error code that water pipe was kinked. It wasn't. Restarted load, took 12 hours, went to take out, still soaked. Repairman came out said it's fine. Started cycle again, 9 hours later, clothes are still soaked. Ready throw this machine out the window.

The new smart all-In-one washer / dryer combo saves half the space, eliminates the hassle of taking cold wet clothes out of a washer and putting them in to a dryer, and keeps you posted on your smart phone. Very cool! Like it a lot!

I could not be happier with this washer/dryer. I LOVE the fact I put the load in and the machine does it all! I have even installed the app and can see the progress no matter where I am and control the machine as well.

I just got my machine and am doing the first load. I like the compact size and the ventless feature. However, I purchased it under the false pretense of it being made in USA. It is not. It is made in China- very disappointed.

Energy and Space Saver!
Ambrra
1/30/2019
Very Impressed! This machine is efficient and space saving. A wonderful idea and I enjoy using it. There are many cycles and options to choose from, it even has an extra fast spin which is great for the clothes I want to hang dry.
Since it does both wash AND dry, the machine is in use for an average of 2hrs (or longer depending on your selections). Make note: it takes longer to dry since it's not vented like a typical dryer, but you also have the option of not drying. Some loads I have done have taken 3.5hrs.
Unlike the traditional duo, I am not able to start a second load while the first is drying. So because of this, I changed how and when I do laundry. Now, I can start a load before bedtime or going to work and not have to worry about needing to move clothes to the dryer. With this idea in mind, the extra time it takes to complete a load doesn't seem to hinder progress. I really am loving this machine and I am figuring out which cycles work best for the different types of loads I'm wanting to wash.
Since it has a heating unit for the dryer, it only needs the cold water hookup and heats the water as it needs it (no more extra energy used heating water for it in the hot water tank).
It has 2 dispensers to hold liquid soap and softener. I love that I don't have to pour in soap each time I do a load... it will notify when it is low.
Also, it can connect to our Wi-Fi and the progress of the cycle can be viewed over the Whirlpool App.
We installed it ourselves and the instructions were very easy to follow! Note: You may need to get a power cord that matches the outlet you have (it has instructions for the 3 and 4 prong) it didn't come with the machine.
As with anything new, it does take an adjustment period, but this machine is fabulous. I love it!

Whirlpool Smart All-in-One Washer/Dryer = Winner!
Robert K.
11/26/2018
We have been using our new Whirlpool Smart All-In-One Washer and Dryer, and are loving it! Instead of dirty laundry being such a bore & chore, now doing the laundry is futuristic fun! I just drop off my dirty laundry, and my smart phone app tells me when to come pick-up my clean, dry laundry! No more guessing if the washer is done, and then the dryer is done, nor the intervening step of moving wet, cold clothes from a separate washer to a separate dryer. (We don't have a separate dish washer, and a separate dish dryer in our kitchen, so why not the same for a laundry washed & dryer.). The 2.8 cubic feet volume capacity, filled to 50% height of the drum to allow for a reasonable dry time, is sufficient for a typical single, individual weekly load, (e.g., 2 pants, 7 shirts, 7 socks, 7 underwear, 1 towel, etc.; for our three-person household, each person is doing their own laundry now, which works out fine.). Love the sleek modern minimalistic design, with the electronic control panel in the window, so futuristic. Also enjoying the Load & Go for the detergent, and clothes conditioner (softener), no longer have to individually include a detergent pod, along with a conditioner sheet, for each load. Wash cycle is about 45 minutes, dry cycle about 1 hour 45 minutes, total of about 2-1/2 to 3 hours total wash & dry cycle time; longer than a vented dryer, but more than compensated by not having to wait around to check if the wash cycle is done, then when done, having to transport the wet, cold clothes to a separate dryer, then having to check if the dry cycle is done; plus not having to clean a vented dryer dust filter each dry cycle, (just rinse monthly a small water drain filter.). Very electric energy efficient. Compact size with the future of laundry cleaning today... Whirlpool has a Winner!

2nd Unit! Same error F5E4 Product has a flaw!
RobM167
10/15/2018
I am on my second unit after a month wait after the first unit started to give me an error F5E4 after 3 normal washes. Unbelievably!! The 2nd unit is displaying the same error! F5E4. This has been a nightmare! I got rid of my old unit and now stuck with a second unit and I'm sure whirlpool will apologize and send some to check, btw the tech who will show, never seen this model because it's new and around and around I'll go. Don't buy yet! It's obvious the unit after 2 years of development, is not ready!
