I'm very happy with my purchase. I actually love the easy access of the lint tray. One swipe and it's clean. The guard prevents lint from getting on clothes but to be sure I clean the tray before I unload the clothes. I also love the steam function and the antiwrinkle cycle.

poor directions

Trying to hook up the steam boost, there are no directions on how to do this, had to search the web best I could come up with is it goes to the cold connection. looking for directions on how and when to use the steam boost, I could not find any info. I needed to switch the door and was amazed at the four little screws holding the door on, for commercial grade does not seam very tough. Now that the door is switched there are two screws that now show on the door top, trapping dirt. The door is hard to close.

Appreciate the ease of which our purchase went. I like the light when the door on the dryer is open. The washer has some quirks to be worked out. Like you can't open the door to add another item to wash very easily. Also I'd like it if the soap well would clean out during the wash. One last thing. The cup I use to add my soap to the well with I always toss into the wash. I've noticed many times it still has soap residue on and within that cup after the wash is done. It makes me wonder if my clothes are really cleaned thoroughly.

My GE dryer died an ignoble death after less than 7 years of relatively light use, and I found out that it would cost nearly as much to repair as replace. As long as I was going to need a new dryer, I went with Speed Queen. There aren't a lot of electronic knobs or whistles here, because dryers don't really need them. This is all the dryer I'm ever realistically going to need, and so far, I'm satisfied that the upgrade was worth it.

Noisiest dryer I have every owned -- and this replaced a Crosley Conservator. I actually had SQ send a repairman after it was first installed because I thought it was malfunctioning. I still can't quite get over it. However, it dries well. I have no issue with its intended purpose -- but please, for the love of harmony - install it in a separate building. Even my cats got freaked out over the grinding noise.

Worth the money

I am very pleased with our new dryer. It works so much better than our old one, less time spent drying clothes. It's nice and quiet and easy to use. I don't care for the design of the lint filter, but have gotten use to it and it's not a big deal. Fits a ton of clothes. The door closes a bit hard, but I've also gotten used to it and learned how to easily shut it. Overall, I am pleased woth the dryer.

Did I get a lemon?

On delivery day when the men went to attach the electric cord to the dryer, one of the 3 holes where the cord screws on to the dryer had no threads to secure the screw so repair men had to be called before the dryer could be installed. Today the plastic piece on the dryer door that accepts the metal (I think) piece on the dryer itself to allow the door to stay closed, broke. It'll be a week before a repair man can come to fix it. I've owned the dryer for two months. This does not put Speed Queen in a good light.

Excellent - put needs to buzz long, loud and early

This is a great dryer except for the end of cycle notification - one short, not very loud buzz as it stops. I would like a long, loud buzz that starts several minutes before the load stops tumbling. We are busy people and really dislike going into check on the dryer only to find it has stopped and we didn't hear the buzz so now we are left with wrinkles.

Good machine but lousy ending signal

The ending signal is not loud enough. And there is no way to adjust it. I am hearing impaired and this is maddening for me to not know when the dryer is finished. We live in a bilevel home and my laundry room is on the bottom level. I did not have this problem with my old dryer.

I purchased a DR5 model in April 2023 after doing a lot of research. It is easy to operate and without all the bells and whistles. Since everything is being made cheaper by the regulations of our current government, it is the best on the market. Wish I had purchased a Speed Queen washer, but I did not know how much our appliance industry had been affected in the last 2 years and purchased another well know brand that has been a really bad experience. I just wish the dryer had a glass door and a countdown on the drying cycle.

This DR5003WG gas dryer is the best dryer we have ever owned. The construction is far superior to most "consumer" dryers. There is nothing cheap or flimsy about it. It dries exceedingly well, is very quiet and Energy Star rated. It has a large capacity, well lit interior. The controls are solid feeling and easy to use. No Bluetooth or WiFi gimmicks, just good solid, simple construction. Highly recommended.

The first washer I purchased was returned and replaced after the start pad malfunctioned 3 times requiring replacement of pad each time. The second washer has had repair for the same problem. With the dryer I never know how my clothes will turn out, most of the time they're a wrinkled mess and often are not dry after an hour in the dryer. The irony is that I purchased Speed Queen with the impression that they required little to no repair service, unfortunately that has not been the case.
